Wine Master Class: Sparkling and Rosé Wines

10.00 -1.00pm, Sat 18 February 2012; $75 (includes lunch) ($60 Club Lerida members)

This Master Class, conducted by Jim Lumbers, proprietor, and Malcolm Burdett, winemaker, will focus on two wine styles - sparkling wines and Rosé wines.
Lerida Estate makes two pink sparkling wines - our pink Brut Rosé (champagne style) and our Zenzi rosato frizzante - our Moscato-style wine that is a lightly sparking pink wine. The workshop will explore how the different styles of sparkling wines are made, and participants will taste some of Lerida Estate’s sparkling wines against some benchmarking sparkling wines from around the world.

The master class will also explore Rosé – a style of wine that is more popular in France than white wine, and a style that is becoming increasingly popular in Australia. The workshop will cover some history about Rosé, how the different styles of Rosé are made and the different grape varieties used to make Rosé. Participants will taste Lerida Estate’s Pinot Rosé wines and Pinot Rosé Sur Lie wines (both made from Pinot Noir) against some benchmarking Rosé wines from around the world.
The master class will finish with lunch served in the barrel room. BOOKINGS REQUIRED

Try one of Cafe Lerida's signature dishes which are designed around fresh local produce, and match it with a superb Lerida Estate wine (including one of the best Shiraz Viognier wines in Australia!).

Note: Cost is $12.50 pp if there are less than 6 in the group.

Take a vineyard & winery tour, and afterwards have a tutored tasting of 6 of Lerida Estate's finest wines, with Jim Lumbers (the owner of Lerida Estate), or Malcolm Burdett (winemaker) or John Caine (Cellar Door Manager). BOOKINGS REQUIRED

Experience the beauty of Lake George and get some exercise at the same time by doing the Lake George Vineyards Walk. Sensible walking shoes and long pants recommended. Have lunch at Café Lerida before or after the walk.

Come and have lunch at Café Lerida with some family and/or friends, and then enjoy a social game of Petanque/Boules. A relaxing way to spend the afternoon – and some gentle exercise as well!
