July Tasting Notes
300 Wine Club - July Tasting Notes
At Lerida, we take immense pride in our vineyard's unique terroir, where each block tells its own story through the expression of our grapes. Here, diversity thrives, as each microclimate shapes the fruit in distinctive ways. The northern section of our vineyard, except for the top 9 rows, is exclusively dedicated to the MV6 clone of Pinot Noir.
Situated on a flat expanse at the forefront of the vineyard, this area enjoys lake-bed silty soil, rich in nutrients and water retention capabilities. As the terrain ascends, gentle slopes give way to steeper inclines, marking a gradual elevation change. Midway up the hill, a ridge emerges, dividing the rows into distinct north and south aspects. During harvest, we meticulously segregate the fruit from these top blocks, recognising that the wines they yield exhibit remarkable differences reflective of their unique orientations.
